My joy for today is thankfulness.
I have been considering joining the blogging revolution for quite some time (please see “Regarding the decision to blog” for more on this). Many people I deeply respect have put their thoughts on the internet, and I began to consider it myself. Once I decided to take the leap, I wanted to have some theme with which to organize my thoughts and musings. The basic impetus was thankfulness. I am extremely and perplexingly blessed. I am loved by many. I am warm. I am not hungry or worried about my power being disconnected. I am healthy and happy. I have everlasting peace in the knowledge that I am saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. It is from the subsequent overwhelming feeling of gratitude that I felt it would be worthwhile to document in a public way the reasons for my daily joy.
Often, the reasons for my joy will be silly, trite, or fleeting. Sometimes they will be perplexing or dreary. Rarely they will be profound. They will always be honest.
Thank you for joining my journey.
